Developmental Charts

The first few years of life shape a child's future. This is when the most significant brain development occurs. Roughly 80% of brain development is completed by age 3 and 90% by age 5. It is never too early to start incorporating language rich activities into daily routines. Every child develops at a different rate and there is a wide range as to when language development will occur. The charts on this page serve as a guideline for parents and caregivers. It is important to keep track of your child's development and express concerns if you feel they are falling behind.

The CDC has developed the Learn the Signs Act Early website that includes a developmental milestone tracker and free parent resources to make keeping track of your child's development a breeze!
